Coming to Netflix this Week

May 8th:

The Wrong Missy: This original Netflix production is a rom-com about a man who wants to invite his dream girl on a corporate retreat in Hawaii. But he makes the classic mistake of texting in error and winds up inviting the wrong girl to Hawaii. We’ll have this review up on Friday night.

Sleepless: A standard story of a missing son and a police officer doing everything he can to get him back. Restricted, Content details only.

House at the End of the Street A horror movie starring Jennifer Lawrence who moves with her mother into a house next door to a murder scene and who befriends the brother of the killer. PG-13, Grade: C-

May 11th:

Have a Good Trip: Adventures in Psychedelics: This is a documentary about psychedelic drugs and the people that use them. It’s an original Netflix production and we’re not sure if the movie is pro- or anti-drug. Our review will be up as quickly as possible on release date.

Coming to Amazon this Week

May 8th:

The Goldfinch: A story about a boy whose mother is killed in a terrorist attack in a museum. His life unravels as a result and he clings to a painting of a goldfinch that he stole after the bombing. Restricted, Grade: D+

May 10th:

Jack and Jill: Adam Sandler plays twins Jack and Jill who struggle with a fractious relationship. When Jill comes for Thanksgiving and decides to make an extended visit, we all know that the amount of conflict is going to increase exponentially. PG, Grade: C

May 14th:

Seberg A biopic of French new wave artist Jean Seberg who was targeted by the FBI for her involvement with figures in the civil rights movement and the Black Panthers. Restricted, Grade: C

Spaceship Earth: This documentary looks at the crew who designed, built and spent two years in Biosphere 2, an earth science research project in Arizona. Not rated, Grade:

May 9th:

Downton Abbey: The Crawley family and their servants reunite in a feature film about a visit from King George V and Queen Mary to Downton Abbey. PG, Grade: A-

The Photograph: A reporter stumbles across the decades old work of a recently deceased photographer. Later he meets her daughter and the pair struggle to deal with the legacy of the past and their own issues. PG-13, Grade: C
