August 7:

Howard: This documentary tells the story of Howard Ashman, the brilliant lyricist responsible for classic Disney tunes in Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid. (Original feature)

The Peanuts Movie: A story about Charlie Brown and his crush on the little red haired girl as well as Snoopy’s imaginary battles with the Red Baron. G, Grade: A

The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time: Prince Dastan must work with Princess Tamina to stop his uncle Nizam from using a magical dagger to control time for his own benefit. PG-13, Grade: B-

X-Men: Mutants with unusual powers band together to fight intolerance and a group of violent, mutants who want to exterminate humanity. PG-13, Grade: C

August 14:

Ant-Man and the Wasp: This MCU feature focuses on Ant-Man and the Wasp as they jump to the quantum realm to help Dr. Hank Pym create a stable quantum tunnel and retrieve his wife. PG-13, Grade: B

The Greatest Showman: This lush musical is inspired by the life of P.T. Barnum and the circus he founded. PG, Grade: A-

Magic Camp: Andy has lost his zest for magic, so he becomes a camp counsellor at the camp he used to attend. (Original feature)

Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 2: What do regular high school students do when werewolves disrupt their love lives? (Original feature)

August 21:

The One and Only Ivan: This original production tells the tale of Ivan, a silverback gorilla stuck in a suburban shopping mall with an elephant and a dog. The arrival of a new baby elephant triggers Ivan’s memories of his jungle childhood and questions about his identity and future. (Original feature)

Beauty and the Beast: Disney’s live action remake of its animated hit vividly retells the “tale as old as time” of Belle as she thaws the heart of the angry Beast. PG, Grade: B+

August 28:

Alice Through the Looking Glass: Alice makes a second trip to Wonderland to save the Mad Hatter from the power-hungry Red Queen. PG, Grade: B-

Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe: Candace has been abducted by aliens and must rely on Phineas and Ferb to rescue her. But does she want to be repatriated from a planet that doesn’t have any pesky brothers living on it? (Original feature)

Fantastic Four: After being exposed to serious levels of radiation, four colleagues discover they have unusual powers – internal combustion, invisibility, super flexibility, and turning into rock. They work together to save the earth from Victor Von Doom, a billionaire industrialist with the usual dreams of global domination. PG-13, Grade: B
