News About "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power"

An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power opens in Canada on August 4, 2017>

It appears that the environmental message of this follow-up to the 2006 documentary An Inconvenient Truth may not be very convenient for theaters goers. That's because Paramount has announced the film, which was originally scheduled for wide release, will now be showing in a limited number of theaters on July 28, 2017, with the possibility of later expansion. No official statement has been made on the decision to decrease the size of the release, but one has to wonder if the studio fears a tepid response to Al Gore's commentary on the state of the global warming crisis. It may also have something to do with the unpredictable nature of the public's response to the documentary's inclusion of President Donald Trump's cool response to this hot topic.

From the Studio:

A decade after AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH brought climate change into the heart of popular culture, comes the riveting and rousing follow-up that shows just how close we are to a real energy revolution. Vice President Al Gore continues his tireless fight traveling around the world training an army of climate champions and influencing international climate policy. Cameras follow him behind the scenes – in moments both private and public, funny and poignant -- as he pursues the inspirational idea that while the stakes have never been higher, the perils of climate change can be overcome with human ingenuity and passion.
