June Movies to Hit Theaters
The first weekend in June opens with an action film, a teen tearjerker and a mature love story. You can catch Tom Cruise in the futuristic movie Edge of Tomorrow where humans are in deadly fight against invading aliens. Luckily Cruise’s character has the ability to start the day over ever time he dies.
After starring as the lead character in Divergent, Shailene Woodley plays a cancer patient in The Fault in Our Stars. The last thing she is looking for is a long-term relationship but Gus, another member in the cancer support group, feels differently. He’s ready to make the most of whatever time they have together.
Finally older audience members may be lured into theaters for The Love Punch. This romantic comedy stars Emma Thompson and Pierce Brosnan as a divorced couple that is forced back together while trying to recoup their lost retirement funds.
Coming to theaters on June 13:
Hiccup is back for a second adventure with his pet dragon Toothless in the movie How to Train Your Dragon 2. In this story he meets the mother he thought he had lost.
In the historic movie Alone Yet Not Alone, two young sisters are captured from their English colony in 1755. Forced into a strange culture they have to rely on their faith in God to see them through as they try to escape and make it back to their family.
It is another alien invasion of some sort in the movie The Signal. While on a road trip, Nic and two of his friends find themselves in an isolated area when everything goes dark. When they wake up, they find themselves in a middle of a nightmare.
Releasing on June 20
The characters from the movie Think Like A Man are in Las Vegas for a pre-wedding celebration in the follow-up movie Think Like A Man Too. But the question is, will the romantic weekend be spoiled by all the misadventures these couples get themselves into?
The month wraps up with Transformers: Age of Extinction opening on June 27. Mark Wahlberg plays an automotive mechanic who makes a discovery along with his daughter Tessa that brings down the Autobots and Decepticons in this fourth outing for the Transformers.
