After watching a movie with your children or students, we encourage parents and teachers to look for education opportunities to teach with movies. Here are a few discussion topics that can help with lesson plans or teaching in the home.
Why are classic characters sometimes modified when adapted to movies? What reasons can you think of which may have motivated the changes made to the character of Sherlock Holmes in this film?
Sherlock Holmes has an uncanny ability to determine details about someone’s personality by simply observing them. Have you ever tried to do this? How might drawing conclusions this way possibly lead us to assume things about another person that are not correct? Do stereotypes in the media contribute to these assumptions?
