In The Wizard of Oz a girl named Dorothy has to follow a path (the yellow brick road) to find a man with the magical power to send her home. Other similarities between this 1939 movie and Dora’s adventure include a witch who commands flying monkeys, friends that help along the way and a land somewhere over the rainbow.
Elmo in Grouchland features another popular preschool TV character. Other children’s programming available on DVD includes Here Comes Clifford and Bear in the Big Blue House.
