Home Video Releases for July 10
If hot weather has hit your part of the country, then you’ll have more things to do inside this week if you are a movie buff. This week’s new video releases include some options for nearly everyone.
Kevin James is back as store security guard in Paul Blart Mall Cop 2. The film epitomizes everything film critics love to hate: sloppy writing, predictable plot, and mediocre acting. But kids may feel differently about this kind but clumsy cop who gets a chance to attend a security convention in Las Vegas.
The sights and sounds of India return to the screen in the movie The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. In the story, hotel proprietor Sonny Kapoor is ready to expand his hospitality empire by purchasing another renovation project. However he discovers his financial backers are sending an undercover guest to ensure they are making a wise investment.
In the Nicholas Sparks’ movie The Longest Ride, an art student gets roped into going to a local rodeo where she falls head over heels in love with a cowboy named Luke Collins. It is a clash of worlds as the pair (who engage in some steamy couplings) tries to find the balance between his world and her’s.
Cuba Gooding Jr. plays a slave who attempts to escape with his wife and son through the Underground Railroad. During the perilous journey from Richmond, Virginia to the Canadian border, they have to put their trust in God and the hands of strangers in the R-rated movie Freedom.
In another R-rated movie Ex Machina, a computer genius pits his wits against a man-made android with an extraordinary female form.
The limited release film Alone Yet Not Alone follows some young pioneer children who are taken captive after their family and farm are attacked and destroyed by the Natives in the area. They must cling to their faith in God to help them endure their strange new culture.
David Spade reprises his role as the dysfunctional Joe Dirt for the Crackle TV movie Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser. The movie will release directly to Crackle TV on July 16.
