Emma Watson and Lily James Take Live Action Roles in Disney Classics

Disney is bringing a live-action version of the Cinderella story to the big screen this March. The film stars Lily James in the title role and Richard Madden as the handsome prince. The film is the first of several animated Disney classics being remade with live characters.

This week Emma Watson announced via her Facebook page she will be stepping into the role of Belle in the movie Beauty and the Beast. “My six year old self is on the ceiling—heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons.”

The film, scheduled to start filming later this year will be directed by Bill Condon who also sat in the directorial seat for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn and Dreamgirls.

The Mouse House Studio also has plans for a live-action remake of The Jungle Book to be directed by Jon Favreau (Chef, Iron Man and Elf) and released in 2016.
