Why is The First Omen rated R? The First Omen is rated R by the MPAA for violent content, grisly/disturbing images, and brief graphic nudity.
Violence: A person is stabbed with a scalpel. A nun sets herself on fire as children watch. A man is killed in a traffic accident: his entrails are seen spilling out of his body. A man’s skill is split open. Facial burns are seen in close up. Satan worshippers try to burn a woman and child alive. There are frequent jump scares and scenes of supernatural horror.
Sexual Detail: There are body horror scenes involving genital nudity. Nuns are tied up and hooded in preparation for being raped by a demon. A nun has a vision of being groped and licked by a demon. A childbirth scene sows a demonic claw emerging from a woman’s genitals. There is a bloody Caesarean delivery scene.
Profanity: There are occasional sexual expletives in the script.
