Mr. Hobbs' (James Stewart) dream vacation is radically altered into a nightmarish family reunion, courtesy of a sentimental notion from Mrs. Hobbs (Maureen O'Hara). Now a large gathering of relatives is trapped under one dilapidated roof while tempers and temperatures rise.
