The Force… It’s calling to you…
The newest trailer (let’s call it Trailer 2) for Star Wars: Episode VII—The Force Awakens (and let’s call that StarWars VII) was released during ESPN’s Monday Night Football last night (handy that Disney owns a sports network) and was met with a wild reaction from fans. The Force was too great, and brought Fandango and other ticketing servers to their knees as they failed to keep up with the demand. The most desperate even had to walk to their local theater to buy tickets. So 1977…
But enough of our 1st World problems. What does this new trailer tell us? First off young actress Daisy Ridley really does appear like she’s won the lottery of fame (and, most assuredly, fortune). We also are left with the impression that Han Solo is going to be a big driver of the plot with his Millennium Falcon shooting through a few shots. Meanwhile Carrie Fisher gets about a half-second of time, perhaps indicating a much lesser involvement.
The big question is where is Mr. Skywalker? The only moment we might have of him is a mysterious bionic hand that is melding to R2D2. Could it be? That’s enough speculation for now. Watch the trailer and tell us what you think…
