The Big Teaser: Star Wars VII

A new morsel has been tossed out to hungry Star Wars fans during an official fan event in Anaheim California today. A 2-minute glimpse, known as Teaser #2, shows off the view of the new movie on a grand scale. Within it we hear the unmistakable voice of Mark Hamilll as Luke, passing on the torch… er… lightsaber… on to what we presume will be the next generation. (Director JJ Abrams appears poised to do for this franchise what he did for Star Trek.)

Another treat is Harrison Ford with Chewbacca by his side, a shot shown just after we see the Millennium Falcon fly across the screen. And if you are left thinking the landscape looks like Tatooine, think again. JJ revealed that it’s instead a planet called Jakku, where the inciting incident will set the script in motion.

Not surprisingly the fans embraced the moment, and it appears the cast reciprocated. “You’re more than fans. You’re family,” said Hamill to the crowd. And with the hopes of being one of the highest grossing movies of the year, this December 2015 release should leave us all feeling the love.
