Muppets About to Become Adult Programing?
It appears that the Muppets may about to get a whole lot racier. ABC’s pilot presentation will be a mockumentary-style series that explores the personal lives of the Muppets and promises a “more adult” show.
ABC’s official new logline reads: “The Muppets return to prime time with a contemporary, documentary-style show that—for the first time ever—will explore the Muppets’ personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, break-ups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires; a more adult Muppet show, for kids of all ages.”
That “kids of all ages” line may be a stretch for some families.
Big Bang Theory’s co-creator Bill Prady and Anger Management’s writer-producer Bob Kushell are behind the project and are promising a 30 Rock feel to the program. Their plans are to take the series deeper into the soap-territory that is a trademark of hits like Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal.
Whether or not that translates to Muppet on screen sex remains to be seen.
