Coming to Disney+: October 2020
If you’re not too busy watching season 2 of The Mandalorian (which opens at month end), there are some more family-friendly options available on Disney+ in October.

Maleficent. You thought you knew the story of Sleeping Beauty? Think again. This tale is told from the perspective of Maleficent, a mutilated and betrayed fairy who’s out to get her revenge. PG, Grade: C
October 2
Mr. Holland’s Opus. When a young musician needs to pay the rent, he reluctantly accepts a job as a high school teacher, with the hope that it will be temporary. Three decades and thousands of students later, he has the opportunity to reconsider his defintion of success. PG, Grade: A
Cheaper by the Dozen 2. The Baker clan is back, this time on a family vacation. But it’s far from restful: when Dan meets up with a high school rival, things get messy. PG, Grade: B
October 9
X2: X-Men United. When a cloaked invader overruns the White House, the mutants are in the cross hairs of the government. PG-13, Grade: B-
The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader.In the third movie of the Narnia series, the two youngest Pevensie siblings return to Narnia along with their annoying cousin, Eustace. They encounter Prince Caspian and join him on a sea voyage to search for seven lost lords. PG, Grade: A-
October 16
Clouds. This Disney+ original tells the true story of Zach Sobiech, a gifted high school student who’s diagnosed with terminal bone cancer. When he’s offered a record deal, he and his best friend decide to make the most of the time he has left. Our review will be posted on release day. PG-13
Beverly Hills Chihuahua. When a pampered pooch named Chloe finds herself lost in Mexico, she is lucky to be found by another tiny dog named Papi. The canine couple embark on adventures that change Chloe’s outlook on life. PG, Grade: B
October 30
Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Another take on Arthurian lore, this film features the sorcerer Balthazar who is given Merlin’s dragon ring and the charge to find the person who can destroy the evil Morgana. Much to everyone’s surprise, that’s a geeky physics student at NYU. PG, Grade: B
