The Disappointments Room is aptly named. First, the film faced major problems with its theatrical opening due to the bankruptcy of its production company, Relativity Studios. Even after financial and legal challenges were overcome, the movie received only a limited release in September 2016. Worse yet, it debuted poorly, and the schlocky script was panned by critics . The box office results were also dismal, so the horror flick is making a swift exit to home video, where it will be available on DVD only.
