A child psychologist (Naomi Watts) dealing with her own grief over an accident involving her husband and son, feels like she has been given a second chance when she offers to help a young boy (Jacob Tremblay) who has lost his mother. But the responsibility coupled with her inIsolated location begins to blur her sense of reality.
