War Heroes
On this historic date of 11-11-11, citizens around the world will participate in activities to recognize the sacrifices made in World War I and other conflicts that followed.
“Take time to remember our Veterans this week.”
November 11 is known as Veterans Day in the United States, Remembrance Day in the British Commonwealth countries and Armistice Day in Belgium and France.
Movies that portray events surrounding WWI include African Queen, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Flyboys and Passchendaele. Other war movies include The Great Escape, and Tora! Tora! Tora!. Recent conflicts are depicted in Dear John and Grace is Gone.
