Facebook Founder Says He Will Fight To Allow Children Of All Ages On Facebook

America’s youngest billionaire Mark Zuckerberg hasn’t done a whole lot to convince users of his massive Facebook site that he is truly concerned about their privacy. Countless times Facebook has been accused of “selling out” personal information. But things became even worse when a recent Consumer Reports survey revealed millions of U.S. Facebook users are under 13 years of age, which is prohibited under the Child Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

We would hope Mr. Zuckerberg’s reaction would be to immediately ramp up enforcement and shutdown Facebook profiles that aren’t in compliance with COPPA—especially those where children have deliberately lied about their age. But instead he has decided to fight COPPA, with the intent of making Facebook open to all ages. His justification? It’s educational.
