Home Video Releases for March 3

Home video shelves are bulging with new releases this week, including a little something for almost everyone.

The very youngest family viewers can catch Curious George on Blu-ray. This delightfully animated story about the curious little primate and his friend The Man in the Yellow Hat is releasing in a new format with this additional features:

Another choice for the younger set is Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast releasing straight to home video. In this new adventure, a comet lands in Pixie Hollow and with it comes a frightful looking NeverBeast. But Tinker and her friends discover the hairy creature isn’t as bad as he looks.

Older children may be ready for a sweet confectionary journey with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This 2005 remake of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory stars Johnny Depp as the reclusive and eccentric proprietor of a candy factory. He gives away five golden tickets to a lucky handful of children who get a tour of the unusual workshop.

A young teen dreams of a fairytale life, but her reality involves abuse, depression and addictions. However in the movie To Write Love on Her Arms, this girl fights to overcome her past and embrace a new life. The movie is based on a true story.

The R-rated movie Foxcatcher was nominated for five Academy Awards this year including Best Actor in a Leading Role for Steve Carell and Bust Supporting Actor for Mark Ruffalo. This story of two Olympic class wrestlers also stars Channing Tatum.

The 1953 musical The Band Wagon stars Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse in this classic story about a famous singer and dancer who is feeling washed up until he get a chance to help put on a show that will revive the audience’s love of a song and dance movie.

Opting to release on Friday, March 6, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 brings the next installment of this dystopic teen franchise to home theaters.
