Shortly after Michael Finkel (Jonah Hill) was dismissed from his journalism job, he discovered Christian Longo (James Franco), a suspected murder, had been using his identity to evade authorities. A curious Finkel then contacted Longo, hoping to uncover his true story and redeem their lost reputations.
