Making the Grades

Because we only review G, PG, and PG-13 movies at Parent Previews we did not review this title. For your convenience, we have provided some brief information about the film’s synopsis and content.

Synopsis: During the 1930s, John Dillinger (played by Johnny Depp) enjoyed the reputation of a hero, even though he was a villainous bank robber. Determined to stop Chicago’s growing crime rate, Pres J. Edgar Hoover (Billy Crudup) formed the FBI, and sent his top agent, Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale), to capture the man he deemed one of the country’s worst Public Enemies.

Home Video Viewing Alternatives

Here are some ideas for home video titles that are related to Public Enemies.

The life and death of another bank robber is explored in the movie The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford. Christian Bale plays a similar role of a man attempting to bring an outlaw to justice in 3:10 To Yuma. The tale of a thief, who endured himself to the public because he stole from the rich and gave to the poor, is found in Disney’s family-friendly Robin Hood.
