BRRRRRING! Welcome to Hollywood Sex 101 students. I know we've had many sessions on this subject lately, but filmmakers feel that there are still some things you need brushing up on. Amazingly, they've all been covered in the new movie Down to You. But before we leave for the theater, let me fill you in on the details...
Al (Freddie Prinze Jr.) is a loveable college guy with some odd friends, including a porno producer. One night in the bar, he meets Imogen (Julia Stiles), a freshman who loves art and is seeking that special someone. Yeah... she's gonna love Al. They start hangin' together everywhere they go - and luckily for them, Imogen won the lottery for a private dorm. That gives them more time to "explore" their relationship, and after three months Imogen figures they should begin having some serious sexual encounters.
Things couldn't be better. Al's parents love Imogen. The happy couple has a great time going to parties, having sex, picking out their favorite song, and having more sex. But one day Imogen gets a little uppity. Fearing she might be pregnant, she suddenly wants to reevaluate their relationship. Phew! Good thing she's not pregnant, especially with her smoking habit and the drinking she does. But when she hooks up at a party with one of Al's druggie buddies, we know the happy couple is headed for trouble.
Class, please notice in this film that you can go to college and have the time and money to smoke, drink, do drugs, ignore homework, and still be highly successful and beautiful. Note also that drinking and driving is only a fender bender on the road of life. And this nonsense about "safe sex"
Don't worry, just have some fun 'cause things will work out in the end. And if you're looking for a career path, here you'll find that pornography is a great way to make big dollars and speak out for freedom of expression.
BRRRRRING! Don't forget class, bring your calculators next week when we discuss how robbing convenience stores can help you balance your bank account.
Down To You is rated PG-13: for mature thematic material, sexual content, language, drug and alcohol use
