Synopsis:
George Clooney plays Jack, an American on a working vacation in Italy. While in the foreign village the loner is befriended by a priest (Paolo Bonacelli) and a beautiful woman (Violante Placido). But Jack has a secret he is unwilling to share: He is an assassin about to pull the trigger on his last job.
The American is rated R: for violence, sexual content and nudity.
