Saving Mr. Banks

When Walt Disney (played by Tom Hanks) promised his daughters that he would make a movie of their favorite story, he never imagined how hard that would be. Author P.L. Travers (Emma Thompson) is incredibly attached to her characters, and it is going to take all Walt's magic to get her to give him the rights to Mary Poppins. Get the movie review and more. »

How We Determine Our Grades

There is no reason that this movie should be rated PG-13. I have three kids under the age of 8 and I would allow all of them to see this movie. I can’t remember hearing any curse words, there is absolutely no violence, nor sex of any kind. (Side note: The MPAA is becoming less and less trustworthy, some rated R movies such as “The Wolf Of Wall Street” should have been given an NC-17 rating.) Yes, the dad coughs up blood on his napkin. ooooohhhh! Blood? Your babies saw blood when they were born!! The dad drinks alcohol, and the movie does not glorify it at all. It does the opposite; if anything, it would deter one from drinking. Kids see this much blood when they get a boo boo, or when they have a bloody nose! Who cares?!! This movie should be rated PG. I am just upset with the MPAA. I’m sorry, I’m not biased, I am just right!

I am very glad I came across this site.  I do not have children but I often want to know the content of movies before I waste my money to see them. I am so tired of paying for movies that are full of unnecessary language and crude content. Please continue to provide these thorough reviews. Also if you could consider expanding on what curse words are said.  I do not care to see movies that offend my religious beliefs. Thanks again.
