Although I enjoyed this film and think that it was full of symbolism for adults on many levels this film is not appropriate for children. The young boy smokes a pipe throughout the movie. The mother of the young girl in the movie is revealed to be having and then ending an affair with the police officer searching for their daughter when the daughter confronts her. The boy is drawing a picture of the young adolescent girl who is dressed only in a bra and underwear. The boy touches her breast and she promises that it will get bigger… It is strange to me that this is not considered abusive to have both of these young actors’ parents and the director allowing and in fact directing them to perform this kind of behavior.
