We took our 3 children who are ages 15, 12, and 11. We had seen the play and love it. We all loved this movie. We checked out parent preview first but it did not have much on there as far as details. There is a part where a girl who has to sell her body for money is laying down on a bed and he lays on her for a little bit. He is moving. They do fuzz it but it depicts her humiliation of just laying there and letting him. There is also a part after everyone dies and the street is full of blood. Those were the two parts I would have liked to know about ahead of time. I do not know if I would have allowed my 11 year old to see it. Just make sure your kids who are older know that this is a musical so most of it’s singing . It is called The Miserable for a reason. It is 2 1/2 hrs. long but it is done beautifully with all the human emotions to go with it. There is a lesson of hope and of forgiveness which give this sad story it’s beauty.
