I am a mother by choice, and after viewing this movie, I feel like I need to defend that decision. This movie insinuated that those who choose to be parents, if they weren’t crazy before(and they probably were), will be driven crazy after. Parents were portrayed as fanatical, stressed to the max, and miserable. This movie tried to exploit the humor in pregnancy, childbirth, and parenthood, but did it so tastelessly and crudely, that I think any laughter elicited was a result of feeling uncomfortable, rather than finding the situation funny. I came out of the movie wishing I hadn’t gone in.

This movie was cute however…my husband and I took our kids (ages 11 & 13) as my daughter has been asking to see it.
Normally I check out parentpreviews.com before seeing any movie but this time I didn’t. We live in Canada and here the rating is PG. I was shocked when a STRONG profanity was said near the end of the film. I was not impressed and felt this movie should have been rated 14A because of the content.
That said, we did enjoy the film. There were some laughs but mainly light chuckles. I would not recommend this movie for families.
