In this historical drama, the event surrounding the assassination of American President John F. Kennedy (played by Brett Stimely) in 1963 are recounted through the eyes of the ordinary people who witnessed the event, including the emergency staff at Parkland Hospital (Zac Efron, Marcia Gay Harden).

Violence: Shots are heard and a wounded man is seen buried underneath bodyguards. Other brief depictions of gun use and a murder are shown. The film contains graphic and bloody depiction of emergency room trauma with medical personnel and others covered in blood during medical interventions. Other scenes also show blood. Some depictions of corpses are seen with some detail included. A man is threatened. Real life footage of shootings is shown. Disturbing and tense scenarios are depicted, along with some frightening moments.
Sexual Content: An intern makes mild sexual advances to a nurse.
Language: The script contains infrequent sexual expletives used in a non-sexual context, along with the frequent use of scatological slang, curses and profanities. Some derogatory and vulgar expressions are also included.
Alcohol / Drug Use: Frequent depictions of smoking are shown.
