Synopsis

The first few times we may have wondered if it was a bird or a plane. Now we just aren't sure which Superman it is! This time the man of steel is being played by Henry Cavill. But the plot is still the familiar story of an alien baby arriving on earth, then growing up to be a super hero.

Here is additional information on sex, violence and profanity in Man of Steel...

Violence: A child is bullied in school and on the street. A woman is shot on screen. Characters frequently engage in fistfights and other hand-to-hand combat. Minor depictions of blood are shown. A character is stabbed to death and others are engulfed in flames. A man steals clothes. Students are in peril when their bus drives over the side of a bridge and begins to sink in the river below. Characters are threatened by a tornado and one man is killed. The remains of corpses are seen at an abandoned outpost. A man vomits and bleeds after being exposed to a different atmospheric pressure. A woman is thrown around and pushed by aliens. Numerous planes are attacked and downed by aliens. Frequent destructive depictions are seen including falling building, crushed cars, demolished property and explosions. Weapons are used to attack aliens. An officer flies a suicide mission into the side of a target. Some frightening and grotesque images are seen.

Sexual Content: A couple kisses. A woman gives birth to a baby. Some mild sexual references are included. A man grabs a woman’s buttocks while she is at work.

Language: The script contains a partial sexual expletive and a handful of profanities along with a few terms of Deity. The script also includes some crude terms for male anatomy and infrequent slurs.

Alcohol / Drug Use: A man drinks a beer at home. A woman guzzles a drink in a bar.

Over all it is a really good movie. As far as for children, I wish there were some things they would have left out. There are a couple of scenes when a word or two was said that shouldn’t have been said. A woman does have her butt slapped while at work. There is a fight scene between a man/woman. I think the moral of the story and the main character shows that with a good heart and not giving into your anger great things can be accomplished. This would be a movie for older children, not younger than 7/8 I believe. One of my favorite comic films yet!
