Why is The Intouchables rated R? The Intouchables is rated R by the MPAA for language and some drug use.

Violence: Characters drive recklessly and lie to police in order to avoid a speeding citation. A man roughs up another man who has parked in a private driveway. Domestic squabbles are heard in a large family.

Sexual Content: Men visit a massage parlor where they are briefly seen getting a massage from scantily dressed women. A quadriplegic vaguely explains how he can obtain sexual satisfaction, which becomes in an ongoing joke. A man makes overt sexual advances toward a female coworker, including asking her to have a bath with him. A male character is seen in the shower on two occasions (no explicit nudity shown). A female character reveals she is having a lesbian relationship.

Language: At least a dozen sexual expletives are heard in French and written in English subtitles, along with numerous other scatological and sexual terms.

Drugs/Alcohol: Characters are seen smoking marijuana and tobacco cigarettes in at least three scenes. In one scene Driss introduces Philippe to marijuana as a way to help him feel better.
