Why is Over Her Dead Body rated PG-13? Over Her Dead Body is rated PG-13 by the MPAA for sexual content and language
Mild sexual innuendo permeates this film about a woman who returns from the dead to thwart her fiance’s new romance. While the sensual talk is mild for the most part, a scene in a hotel room between the new couple results in some very vocal foreplay. A woman has a girlfriend-style relationship with a gay man, and gets dressed in front of him (she is shown in her underwear). Language consists of infrequent moderate profanities, mild expletives and terms of deity. Scenes depicting communicating with dead people, levitation and exorcism by a Catholic priest are also included. Violence is limited to a man accidentally lighting his sleeve on fire while cooking, a flaming dessert that explodes, and a woman being crushed by an ice sculpture (we don’t see the impact). Social drinking is depicted and a woman says she is even more likeable when she’s drunk.
