Mission Impossible 3
Rating & Content Info
Why is Mission Impossible 3 rated PG-13? Mission Impossible 3 is rated PG-13 by the MPAA for intense sequences of frenetic violence and menace, disturbing images and some sensuality.
The movie opens with, and later replays, a very intense scene where a character’s life is being threatened if information isn’t provided (torturous acts and gunshots are implied but not shown). Alcoholic drinks are served at a party, and inappropriate drunken behavior is mentioned. An unmarried couple awakes in bed together (the characters’ bare shoulders are seen) and later is shown kissing and removing each other’s shirts. Espionage activities include car and helicopter chases, gunfire exchanges and explosions. Although little blood is shown, it is obvious people are killed and bodies are shown taking the impact of bullets. Hand-to-hand combat sequences are portrayed. Characters’ lives are put in peril during dangerous operations (including nearly falling from a tall building and flying aircrafts). On several occasions it is implied characters have endured torture. Medications and electrical shocks are administered both to help and harm characters. An explosive device is shot up a nostril, to be detonated at a later time. Several moderate and a few mild profanities are heard, as well as a few term of deity are uttered as expletives.
