Violence: A woman attempts to shoplift by hiding the item being stolen in her mouth. A character makes belittling remarks about another’s political and religious beliefs. Some disparaging remarks are also made about the military. Characters eat unpaid food at a grocery store. Bullying occurs. A fistfight leaves a character with scrapes and burses on his face. The loss of a loved one, and a medical emergency are shown. Characters lie. Characters argue and say unkind things to one another.

Sexual Content: Gingerbread men cookies have been decorated to look like they are wearing loincloths. Sexual references are frequent and include comments about unplanned pregnancies, unmarried sexual relationships and adultery. An older man tells a younger one that some marriages have a shelf life, and encourages him to seek other sexual relationships. A child lifts her dress at the dare of a young boy. Vomiting is depicted. Flatulence jokes are made. A child has a potty accident. Various couples kiss and embrace, and a teen couple French kiss awkwardly and clutch each other. A character admits to being gay and discusses the disapproval he has experienced from his family. Several characters’ underwear is shown.

Language: Crude slang words are used as insults and to describe anatomy. Terms of deity are frequently used as expletives. Mild and moderate profanities, and scatological slang are also heard. Some name-calling occurs.

Alcohol / Drug Use: Characters frequently drink alcohol in bars and at home. References are made to an alcoholic parent. Use of “pot” is mentioned and snickered at.
