Why is Jem and the Holograms rated PG? Jem and the Holograms is rated PG by the MPAA for thematic material including reckless behavior, brief suggestive content and some language.

Violence: One character frequently steals little things. A group of girls use a vehicle without the owner’s permission. The girls don’t keep rules (like their curfew), lie, trespass, “borrow” cars and break and enter—no negative consequences are shown for these behaviors. Siblings sometimes squabble. A character manhandles a valet to get information (shown in a comedic context).

Sexual Content: Teen couples kisses passionately. A mild sexual slur is used. A crude icon is shown on a computer screen. A man is seen wearing only a towel. Some performers wear skimpy costumes.

Language: Mild cursing, profanity and name-calling are heard. Terms of deity are used as expletives.

Alcohol / Drug Use: None noted.
