Why is Head Over Heels (2001) rated PG-13? Head Over Heels (2001) is rated PG-13 by the MPAA for sexual content, crude humor and language.

Overall: D+
The women in this movie will sleep with any man that has enough money—with the exception of the lesbian characters and the main character who continues to donate her body to men too quickly. A few gross out moments (man has bowel movement with highly descriptive sounds, women covered in sewage) and a lame story top it off. The plus is for the four models’ disdain for cigarette smoking.

Violence: C+
Woman pushed over by dog twice. Clumsy woman falls and bangs into things. Silhouette of man hitting woman on head with a club and knocking her to the floor. Talk of murder. Man throws daggers to stop two other men—no injuries. Gunshots hit car—no injuries. Gun held to woman’s head.

Sexual Content: D+
Two men kiss. Secondary lesbian character. Naked woman seen from back sitting on man—interrupted during an intimate encounter. Woman makes physical sexual advances toward another woman. Dog briefly climbs on back of clothed woman followed by sexual movements and later puts head under her dress. Women changing clothes, obviously topless, seen from back and frontal head-shoulders shots. Woman makes incest remark. Man is aroused by wearing women’s clothes. Two male plumbers make sounds that are interpreted as sexual. Woman observes and comments on a couple engaged in sex—no nudity. Many other moments of sexual banter and women adjusting breasts, etc., to look sensuous.

Language: C-
At least one sexual expletive, 8 moderate profanities, 15 mild profanities, and 21 terms of Deity used as expletives or profanities.

Alcohol / Drug Use: B-
Frequent social drinking.
