Why is Brick Mansions rated PG-13? Brick Mansions is rated PG-13 by the MPAA for frenetic gunplay, violence and action throughout, language, sexual menace and drug material.

Violence: The movie contains almost constant depictions of violence including fistfights, weapon use and rioting. A man is punctured in his neck with a pen. Numerous characters are shot randomly. A character is shot with a Tazer. Characters are thrown off the roof of buildings. A man tosses a grenade-like bomb at others. A man is threatened with a meat cleaver. A character is hit over the head with a cinderblock. A man’s head is pushed through bars and then his neck is broken. Corrupt border guards take bribes. A woman is punched in the head and kidnapped. A female character uses menacing sexually suggestive tactics with another woman. Reckless driving results in car crashes. The citizens of a city are threatened with a neutron bomb. Characters are thrown out of moving vehicles and out of windows.

Sexual Content: Men leer at a woman and make crude comments. A female character wears a provocative leather outfit. A woman uses sexually suggestive and menacing tactics on another female character.

Language: The script uses frequent scatological slang terms, a strong sexual expletive (along with crude hand gestures and some modifications of the word), profanities, terms of deity, and crude racial slurs.

Alcohol / Drug Use:Characters drink at work, and at dinner. A man attempts to wash illegal drugs down the drain. Characters are shown in an illegal drug manufacturing facility. Characters smoke on several occasions. A drug dealer says he sells drugs to ease people’s pain. A man attempts to get his grandfather to stop smoking.
