Walter (Danny Glover) invited the relatives to their first family gathering since the death of his wife. But as the crew arrives, they bring along their problems and bad attitudes. If they could just let go of past baggage, they might see a merrier future and experience something almost like Christmas.

Why is Almost Christmas rated PG-13? Almost Christmas is rated PG-13 by the MPAA for suggestive material, drug content and language.

A woman pulls a gun on her cheating husband and fires a near miss shot. Family members engage in petty arguments and verbal abuse that occasionally break into physical fights. Political bribery and manipulation is depicted. A man receives several electrical shocks and falls from a roof – no serious injuries result. A character mentions breaking another man’s nose. Impaired and reckless driving leads to a car accident and injury to the driver.

Sexual Content:
A couple embrace and kiss in bed. Other embracing and kissing is shown. Lingerie is given as a Christmas present. The script is full of crude sexual language, references and innuendo. A woman seductively pulls up the strap of her thong underwear and invites a man into a private place. Infidelity is implied. An unplanned pregnancy is mentioned and joked about. Women wear cleavage baring clothing. A man looks at the backside of a scantily attired woman. An offer to help a woman who got stuck trying to crawl through a window looks like a sexual encounter. A younger man uses sexual pickup lines and flattery on an older woman. Crude and slang terms are used when taking about bedding women. Man bashing occurs.

A litany of mild and moderate profanities, scatological slang and terms of deity are used. Crude sexual slang and anatomical terms are heard. Name-calling and slurs are exchanged. The bloopers shown during the credits feature even more profane language and sexual banter.

Alcohol / Drug Use:
A character abuses prescription medication. Drugs are bought illegally. A woman drinks alcohol frequently.
