P.S. I Love You

Holly Kennedy (Hilary Swank) isn't sure what to do with her life when her husband Gerry (Gerard Butler) passes away. Apparently, her loving spouse realized this would be a problem, so he pre-recorded a few messages for Holly, to be delivered after his death. While his thoughtfulness comforts the grieving widow, Holly's mother (Kathy Bates) and friends (Gina Gershon and Lisa Kudrow) fear she'll never find happiness in the future if she keeps hanging onto the past. How We Determine Our Grades

After watching a movie with your children or students, we encourage parents and teachers to look for education opportunities to teach with movies. Here are a few discussion topics that can help with lesson plans or teaching in the home.

What does Daniel mean when he says he would like to be “somebody’s Gerry”? What kind of relationship does he yearn for?

Although Holly admits she was frequently angry with her husband, how does she feel about their arguments after his death? Why does she become involved with the couple fighting over real estate?

Both Holly and her mother experience the loss of a spouse. How are their situations similar? How do they differ? How does Holly learn to deal with her friends’ happiness?
