After watching a movie with your children or students, we encourage parents and teachers to look for education opportunities to teach with movies. Here are a few discussion topics that can help with lesson plans or teaching in the home.
At one point in the movie, Sammy pulls out a sketchbook with pictures of all the Pokemon he has seen. Ash refers to it as a “hand made Pokedex,” in comparison to the electronic Pokemon indexing device he usually carries. Can you come up with ideas for other basic items that have been replaced by electronics or newer gadgets?
How has the Pokemon craze changed over the past few years? Are people still trading Pokemon cards in your school? If you think Pokemon isn’t as popular now, why is that the case? What is popular now, that may not be next year?
