After watching a movie with your children or students, we encourage parents and teachers to look for education opportunities to teach with movies. Here are a few discussion topics that can help with lesson plans or teaching in the home.
Standardized testing is increasingly used as a tool to screen applicants for college and university entrance. Why are these tests so heavily relied upon? What limitations do these tests have? What groups might be disadvantaged on these kinds of exams? What other devices do schools and employers use to shortlist candidates?
What measurements do people often use to assess success? How do financial standing, educational degrees and job titles rank as status markers? What do you consider to be indicators of a successful life?
