Made of Honor

Always the bridesmaid, never the... groom? Well for Tom (Patrick Dempsey), that's the way it turns out. After years of casual sexual relationships, the ready to reform bachelor finally decides to ask his longtime best friend Hannah (Michelle Monaghan) to marry him--only to discover she has just accepted a proposal from someone else (Kevin McKidd). When the bride-to-be makes him an unusual offer to be her maid of honor, he accepts hoping it might give him a chance to change Hannah's mind. Get the movie review and more. »

How We Determine Our Grades

After watching a movie with your children or students, we encourage parents and teachers to look for education opportunities to teach with movies. Here are a few discussion topics that can help with lesson plans or teaching in the home.

Hannah needs to adjust to some cultural differences between herself and her Scottish fiancŽ. How can ethnic backgrounds affect a marriage? Why are these differences sometimes attractive and other times difficult to accept?

Why might this movie be described as a “male fantasy?” How are the roles of women portrayed in this film? How do they react to the male protagonist?
