After watching a movie with your children or students, we encourage parents and teachers to look for education opportunities to teach with movies. Here are a few discussion topics that can help with lesson plans or teaching in the home.
In the closing credits the"real” Sam asks the question (paraphrased), “If someone were to kidnap your daughter and I could get her back to you, would you care what methods I used to ensure her safety?” How would you answer this question? Are there times when violence is justified? An aid worker in the movie tells Sam there are too many guns in Africa already and he shouldn’t be employing violent methods to attempt to save children. Do you agree or disagree? Where is the balance in this equation?
