How We Determine Our Grades

After watching a movie with your children or students, we encourage parents and teachers to look for education opportunities to teach with movies. Here are a few discussion topics that can help with lesson plans or teaching in the home.

Despite their outward appearances and life experiences, what things do Elizabeth and Ousmane have in common? How do they discover these shared aspects? How can tragedy either bring people together or force them apart?

Why do you think Jane was hesitant to tell her mother about her life in London? How can a parent’s expectations influence the decisions of a grown child?

How do the characters in this story deal with grief, both initially and in the long term?
