Darfur Now

If you have never heard of Darfur, then there is a good chance you don't know about the genocide happening there. This documentary tries to raise awareness and stop the killing by showing the efforts of a Darfurian woman, a UCLA graduate, the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague and a U.N. relief worker. Celebrities, such as Don Cheadle, also lend their voice to the cause. Get the movie review and more. »

How We Determine Our Grades

After watching a movie with your children or students, we encourage parents and teachers to look for education opportunities to teach with movies. Here are a few discussion topics that can help with lesson plans or teaching in the home.

What causes Adam’s change of attitude about student activism? How does he involve others in his cause? How does he use the democratic process?

Should celebrities use their status to make political statements? What other actors are known for their activism?

What causes do you feel strongly about? How can you get involved? For more information on Darfur go to this site: http://www.myspace.com/darfurnow
