After watching a movie with your children or students, we encourage parents and teachers to look for education opportunities to teach with movies. Here are a few discussion topics that can help with lesson plans or teaching in the home.
The script uses many stereotypical characters, such as a bad boy superstar and nasty rich girl. Can you spot any others? Why do you think these kinds of portrayals appear so often in movies?
Mitchie’s poor self-image seems to be the motivation behind her lie. Why is she so ashamed of who she really is? Why does she want to be popular so badly? What things could she have done that would really have built her personal confidence?
