When professional tennis player Tony Wendice (Ray Milland) stumbles upon his wife's (Grace Kelly) affair with an American author (Robert Cummings), the betrayed husband concocts a plot that will will make him a widower and the heir of Mary's fortune. But not all goes according to plan in this Hitchcock murder mystery.
