Why is Transformers rated PG-13?
Official MPAA Rating: Transformers is rated PG-13 for for intense sequences of sci-fi action violence, brief sexual humor, and language.
The film’s opening scenes include a brutal attack on a U.S. Military base in the desert of Qatar. But the action doesn’t stop there. The perpetrators also strike the government’s defense department computers before taking their carnage (bombs, gunfire, car crashes) to the streets. Meanwhile, Sam’s infatuation with a midriff baring girl causes some hormone-charged comments and innuendo as well as a parental discussion about masturbation and a hidden adult magazine. Taken into custody for a suspected offense, Sam is accused of using drugs. The film also contains infrequent use of alcohol by adults along with profanities, vulgarities and a brief irreverent religious remark.
