Why Is Taken 2 Rated PG-13?
Violence: Characters are kidnapped, kicked, punched, beaten, threatened with guns, shot, hit with metal rods, slammed against the wall and stabbed with a pair of scissors. A woman has her neck slashed and then is hung upside down to bleed out. Characters race down the streets, crashing into cars, vendors’ stands and buildings. Graphic and explicit depictions of violence are shown. A train smashes a car and an explosion follows. Characters attend a funeral for numerous people. A man storms out after an argument with his wife. Several characters are choked to death or have their necks broken. A man threatens and prepares to cut off parts of a living woman’s body with his surgical equipment. A nonbeliever threatens a man with a gun and then enters a sacred part of a mosque.
Sexual Content: Unmarried teens kiss and fondle one another. A man lewdly taunts a woman. Characters discuss the rape and abuse of women. A character wears a bikini.
Language: The script contains mild and moderate profanities, scatological slang and terms of Christen deity.
