Why Is Night at the Museum Battle of the Smithsonian Rated PG?

Moments of peril impact many of the characters in this nighttime adventure. One characters is nearly smothered by sand. Others are threatened with swords, chased by soldiers and locked up in a moving crate. One man has his fingers repeatedly smashed and is slapped in the face on several occasions. Two men exchange words and then physically struggle with one another. A man has his security card stolen. Several characters are poked in the foot with swords. A large rodent attacks a miniature man. Several scenes include hand-to-hand conflict. Couples are shown kissing. Mild profanities and terms of Christian Deity are used infrequently.
