Why Is Iron Man 2 Rated PG-13?
Violence is the greatest concern in this movie featuring extended battle scenes between men wearing high tech armor. These metal suits include guns and other weapons capable of electrifying and gassing an enemy. Considering the amount of mayhem, little blood is seen, but collateral property damage is massive. In the final showdown an army of robotic soldiers tromps and flies through a city causing major destruction. Infrequent use of offensive language consists of two bleeped words that are obvious sexual expletives, a crude term for sex, scatological slang, a few mild profanities and a couple of terms of deity. Women are seen in bikini-like costumes during a performance and in underwear in non-sexual situations. A couple of veiled sexual remarks are heard. A distressed character drinks until intoxicated and then loses his temper (a bad thing to do when you are wearing a suit capable of stopping an army!).
